"Pull Out" saw blade
Purchased this saw for use on a 5" X 5" accurate shooting board style saw cutting jig. It is used to make 45 deg. 90 deg. and 135 deg. cuts on boards with maximum thickness of 1/2 inches and 3 1/2 widths. The package reads "Pull Out" and I assumed that the blade cut on the pull stroke just life Japanese saws. Unfortunately, this is actually a push style blade. The advantage of a pull saw on my jig is that the blade will flex less thus allowing for more accurate cuts and less sanding. My bust, I made and incorrect assumption when I read the packaging. The blade, however, works just fine as a push saw but I must make sure not to apply excessive pressure when pushing to make the cut. The package description must mean that you can "pull out" the saw blade from the supported handles.
