Pros and Cons
I love Hobby Lobby, and I love the Paper Studio line of products. That said, despite all of the negative reviews online, I decided to buy this for use with my Cricut Explore. I purchased it on sale for 50% off, and I thought $3.99 (sale price) for (2) 12x36" rolls in a package was a steal over the name brand adhesive vinyl. Sadly, the other reviewers are right... It did a great job with large cuts, but anything small or intricate - forget it! This vinyl is lifting off of the backing material during the cutting process. I end up with a large mess of clumped together vinyl pieces under the blade. When I tried simpler, larger cuts, it worked great, but when weeding, what was to remain behind slid all around on the vinyl's backing material. I had to go back and try to individually move each piece around to the correct spot on the backing material before I could apply the transfer tape.Another complaint is that the backing material sticks too well to my cutting mat.I literally had tons of paper fuzzies stuck all over my mat from the underside of the backing material. When I peeled the backing material off of the mat, it actually removed a layer of backing material in my hands, and left a layer of the backing material on the adhesive "post it" stuff on the cutting mat, if that makes any sense. So, bottom line - if you are looking for an inexpensive alternative to the name brand vinyl for large, simple shapes/letters, this will definitely work. And it is a great price, even not on sale. Anything smaller than a 4x4 cut area, or anything too intricate or detailed, and it will become a hot mess and leave you frustrated.
