The overall heft of the hook is so light it's uncomfortable, the handle, though it MIGHT be bamboo, isn't thick enough to feel comfortable in the hand, and finally, the shaft of the hook and the head are NOT smooth but just rough enough to feel like you're fighting e/ chain you make. If price is your ONLY criteria for purchasing a crochet hook, I believe you'll find cheaper hooks when you take into account sales and/or coupons. My advice is to wait for those. I'm not even sending my 2 hooks (both Yarnology) back 'cause it wld cost more to send them back than what I paid for them, not to mention the hassle of printing out the shipping labels, etc. Any way you look at these, they're NOT a bargain. I'm not even going to give them away in fear of scaring any potential crocheters from trying. Veteran hookers wld probably be insulted by such a gift.
