easy, good for kids
i threw out the scent immediately, as we all have very sensitive skin. we used a natural oil i had on hand. my four and six year old helped, and we used up the entire kit in about 90 minutes. we made the clear soap with colorful chunks, and mixed the remainder into various colors for little animal soaps (the mold ours came with). normally, i go for the natural option, but i had no illusions about what kind of soap we'd be making. they came out looking really good. a person with more patience and skill (say, a ten year old) could make the more involved items. more colors would be nice, or simple primaries for better mixing. we had to use a compartmented kid plate for making the squares. best to make a plan before you start, but aside from that, it was easy, fun, and you could easily use up your mistakes with an ugly color or a swirly soap.
