Best Paint-Saving Palett
I own this palett in the neutral gray color from another seller because Hobby Lobby doesn't seem to sell it in that color. Only white. I'm an oil painter and I love this palett so much that I bought this white one for my sister as a surprise gift, who would also love to have one. I told her all about this palett..even showed her mine, and she is interested in one too. She doesn't care about the color, doesn't mind white, only wants to be able to save her paint which is this paletts wonderful feature. I can't wait until it comes in the mail. She will be so thrilled. By my experience it is a great palett. I think the best one on the market not just for paint saving, but to clean as well. When I'm done painting, I don't even need to clean it if there is enough paint left. It saves me the time. I put the cover on and pop the whole thing into the freezer. No, the plastic doesn't crack. It is very strong and durable. If put in the freezer or fridge if you can, your paint stays wet for a week or two before it starts to dry out and form a skin on the surface. And your paint has the same texture/consistancy like you just put it in there.If you don't freeze or refridgerate it, the paint will dry out sooner and then because of the special smoothness of the plastic, your oil paint is a little harder to remove than acrylics but does come off by scratching, even peeling at some points. Adding a little thinner or solvents does make it come off easier though since oils seem to stick more than acrylics. Acrylics just peel off easily. All the compartments does take some time to clean but this palett is still wonderful and worth it. I have been using mine for about a month now and I hardly cleaned it. Only one or two compartments which I could just simply wipe out when the paint was still wet, or the dried parts I just scratched off with some thinner. For travel it is so easy. You don't have to worry about any cleanup. Just put the cover back on and you're on the go. My only negative point is that the wells or separations are a little small. Maybe if there could be less of them, but larger in size it would be better? I also like that they made the inside or underside of the lid a another palett. You are getting two paletts in one, which is an excellent feature. I'm very happy with this and highly recommend it if you travel, or want to save your paint which does save you money. If you paint in acrylics, it's even easier.
